Sidthatsit creates a new sound with project "bLACK eGG"

Sometimes you instantly recognize a rarity, sometimes you confuse that rarity with another that you may have heard or seen before. Sidthatsit is a rarity. His music is straight out of house Kanye and Cudi built with a very Rap Noir(if thats not a thing it is now) sound. The Chicago kid gifts 2018 with his new Album bLACK eGG. The project consists of nine incredible tracks. It is a very impressive work of art from top to bottom. The content, production, and arrangement of this project are absolutely on point. bLACK eGG is full of tales of ambition, depression, drug experimentation, and heartache. It is a great fusion of uptempo head banging slappers and dark melodic ballads. Off of the top of my head this album gives me that Kanye West 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' or Travis Scott 'Before the Rodeo' feel. I see a dark(pun intended) career ahead for this future star. Afterall, Sidthatsit is a rarity. As rare as an bLACK eGG.

#AlbumOfTheWeek Vocaliz creates cultural experience with new album “Afrikan in New York” [INTERVIEW INCLUDED]

Music is a universal language. One that mythically transcends most national and societal boundaries normally unbroken on planet Earth. If you want a beautiful, polarizing example of this concept, look no further than award-winning, Cameroonian emcee, Vocaliz, and his eclectic 12-track opus, “Afrikan in New York”. “Afrikan in New York” is in all ways Vocaliz’s “break-out” album; his solo debut apart from Ghanian producer, Afana. Tracks such as “At the Speed of Love” (another favorite), “May Be”, and “We Up” (another favorite) have a pristine, Golden Era hip-hop tonality to them; while the tracks succeeding them are much more modern and “trap” in expression. 


As the only rapper on the entire album, Vocaliz phenomenally brings something new and refreshing to each and every beat he spits on. Whether its afrobeat, reggae, boom-bap or trap, this Cameroon-born, Brooklyn-based emcee attacks the music wholeheartedly; able to bend and maneuver his accent to suit and emphasize some already remarkable bars. When it comes to his sound, Vocaliz proves on this astounding debut that he has conquered it; and the universal language of music is yet another one he’s doubtlessly mastered. Raj Will releases new motivational hustler’s anthem titled “Hustle”

"Gotta hustle everyday, thats all I know—" rings like a mantra on the hook of Los Angeles rapper, RAJ WILL’s, latest, titanic single “Hustle”. Singer/rapper, Grand Fisher releases new EP “Real Friends”

With each and every passing year, Canada proves itself as a force to be reckoned with. It has birthed some of the most prolific and talented mainstream artists, whose crossover has dominated American airways. 8.9.3.7th releases new-age song for the ladies “Not Fair”

America's problems do not end at racism. Sexism, and the blatant degradation of women, is also a demon our people must fight. With that being said, if there is anyone in the underground hip-hop scene making it clear that they will indeed wage this war on behalf of women, it is New York rapper, 8.9.3.7th. Like a sword and shield, he wields rhymes and melodies on his latest single “Not Fair”, and rushes into battle. 

Backed by a sensual, yet powerful trap instrumental, blooming with a beautiful sample of Alicia Keys's 2009 “Un-thinkable (I'm Ready)”, the Queens native dedicates this entire track to ladies of the night. It is an anthem for exotic dancers, bartenders, adult-film actresses, and any other woman whose profession is unjustly frowned upon. “And it's Not Fair--” 8.9.3.7th croons on the chorus on the track, “--how they be judging you, girl / You out here running the world / Taking care of your business”. With those few bars alone, he justifies these women's positions. They are simply doing what they need to to make end's meet; and should be praised, not pejorated, for their ambition and excellence. As much as this track could be played at home, it would truly bump in the club scene; where the women it speaks to can embrace it and be inspired by 8.9.3.7th's recurring reminder “Ballers ball, and Haters hate”.

"Understand Me" is the latest single from Orlando, Florida artist Lani Baby. Lani takes us through an introspective trip into his mind where he explores themes from self-doubt to deceit, but he uses it to fuel his creativity and the track ends up feeling very triumphant.
