Born Shelton Hills in New Orleans, LA, Kush3Kidd (@darealogkush) is one of the Southwest’s rising stars. With his fresh rap style and club ready hooks, he is growing amongst DJs and promoters. There are few forces in popular music quite as formidable as a great producer on a mission. Just as a good film director inevitably leaves his stamp on the films he makes, a skillful producer at the helm of a musical project guarantees consistency, vision, and a distinct aural signature that can’t be counterfeited. Ashok Kailath – who records as ash.ØK – is a producer like that. The Unraveled, his debut album, is an amalgam of styles and moods, incorporating elements from dance music, world music, progressive rock, modern pop, and leftfield experimental sounds. Yet no matter what direction he travels or how far out he goes, the music he makes is always identifiably his. You’ll know an ash.ØK song the moment you press play – no matter which of his talented collaborators he’s called on for any given track.
A song like “The Unraveled” required a dramatic video, and ash.ØK has delivered with a clip that has the depth and emotional sweep of a short film. To make it, he enlisted the help of ambitious young filmmaker Patrick Mason, who has applied his own dark vision to beautifully-shot independent music videos and documentaries. Mason is a specialist in Appalachian beauty and desolation, and for the “Unraveled” video, he’s aimed his camera at the same sort of gorgeous but faded West Virginia town that frequently appears in his work. The story follows a young married couple in trouble — both husband and wife trapped, separately, in their problems. Unpaid bills, unfulfilled expectations, the demands of parenthood – it all weighs on them, and, increasingly, they entertain desperate solutions. Although this clip has a happy ending, the message is clear: we need to depend on each other.
Mr. Wired Up (@mrwiredupohboy) a.k.a The architect of #StripHop gets clubs fired up and parties “turned up” when he gets on the mic. Born Kerry Howard, Mr. Wired Up, the once DJ, has a flow with a cadence influenced by some of Houston’s finest rappers. Having worked with the likes of Yung Joc, Trae Tha Truth, and Fat Pimp; Mr. Wired Up created a wave and provides a soundtrack for Houston’s exotic dance scene. Although he’s just getting started, Mr. Wired Up is moving full speed ahead. Inking a new deal with Houston, Texas independent powerhouse L.O.U.D. Muzik.

Since his first mixtape in 2010, H3RO (@yourh3ro) has been making a name for himself on the Carolina hip-hop scene. Having released several projects since then, H3RO continues to infuse the musical genius of his favorite artists into his music. Artists like Nas, Lupe Fiasco, and Eminem serve as the inspiration for his witty lyrics and poetic flow. H3RO is on a mission to break the mold of hip-hop, and his music says just that.

Miami Made David (@miamimadedavid) is one of the latest artist out of South Florida. Fresh on the scene with two new singles: “The Only One” and “Roll With Me”, MMD just wrapped up his latest video for “Roll With Me”. The song, features a mix of Ubran and Hip-Hop sounds with R&B lyrics that communicate an emotionally driven love story. The video, features MMD in some of Miami’s scenic places. Both singles will appear on MMD’s self titled debut album due out next year.

By ENGineer is equipped with grimey underground beats over smooth Curren$y like flows. In the video, Suav commands the camera as he raps in scenes shot in a Virginia neighborhood, accompanied by his masked up right hand man. The video pays tribute to his late friend.
Bronx artist Frank Cook (@frank_cook) has a new album out. The 12 track project, titled “Hear Me Out”, features gritty sounding beats with flows inspired by New York greats like Rakim, KRS-One, and Big Daddy Kane. Cook also features the vocals of Tavaras Tv on the 3 close out tracks “Star”, “Sexy Feel the Room”, and “The Groove”. “Hear Me Out” was released earlier this month, and is part of his vow to pay homage to his late brother through music.

He heads in to a conference room for a meeting where things get heated. From there it’s on to an all-out party, where the drinks keep flowing and the dance moves keep on coming as he celebrates feeling “rich.”
From the music he makes to the logos he uses and merchandise printed, everything Parrish Tha Great creates is a part of him. It comes as no surprise, then, that along with the “Get Rich” music video, he’s designed four t-shirts with the slogan “I Am Rich”, which are seen in the video. The shirts take influence from Versace, Gucci, Run DMC, and MasterCard graphics, and with all designs available on both black and white shirts, there’s something for everyone.
